Finch Hatton RSL Sub Branch is situated near the top of the spectacular Pioneer Valley, with gorgeous Finch Hatton Gorge just a stone’s throw away. Popular with walkers and swimmers, locals and tourists alike, the Valley is a drawcard for people, young and old.
This is reflected in the demographic of Finch Hatton RSL Sub Branch which counts a significant number of active under 50s among its healthy membership. It is a dynamic sub branch with close ties to its community. We welcome new members who want to become a part of a team that works for and with its community, guided by its welfare and commemorative objectives.
The sub branch serves the needs of RSL members and their families in the wider community encompassing Gargett, Pinnacle, Finch Hatton, Eungella and all points in between. Our ANZAC Day commemorations begin at 0428 hours with a hauntingly beautiful pre-dawn ceremony at the cenotaph, followed by breakfast before we move to Gargett Memorial Gate for the next ceremony at 0800 hours. The ceremony at the Pinnacle Memorial at 1000 hours is followed by an evening ceremony at 1830 hours again at the Finch Hatton cenotaph. Hundreds attend the evening ceremony alone, with all services well-attended. A feature of the day is a poignant ceremony at 2100 hours during the dinner hosted by the sub branch for members and invited guests.
