DISTRICT COUNCIL MEETING AT THE GRACEMERE AND DISTRICT SUB BRANCH
After 2 years of limited gatherings, it’s inspiring to see delegates together again, smiling and sharing stories from their Sub Branches. The Pioneer-Fitzroy-Highlands (PFH) District held a District Council meeting at the Gracemere and District Sub Branch on the weekend of 21 May.
16 Delegates and six Co Delegates travelled up to 5hrs to attend the district meeting. RSL Queensland State Branch employees, Jessica Tonzing and Kathryn Smith joined Queensland State Branch Vice President Bill Whitburn OAM and District Secretary Lynette Phillips for the event, wrapping up with dinner in nearby Rockhampton. Lynette told us that everyone enjoyed the opportunity to share stories, ideas and updates from their Sub Branches welfare and commemorative activities over the past few months. The PFH District Secretary also shared a special message to wrap up 2022 National Volunteer Week.
“A special thank you to our Deputy President John Edwards, who drove the bus from Mackay to Gracemere return in the bucketing rain to get us all there safe and dry. Another example of John going above and beyond volunteering for the RSL.”
